FAQs

What does it cost to have Easysale sell my stuff?
Easysale charges you nothing up front to list your unused item in most cases. After your item sells, we send you a check for 60% or more of the selling price.
| 60% of the first $500 |
| 70% of the next $5000 |
| 80% of the remaining amount |
|
Example 1 |
Example 2 |
| Sells for $500 | Sells for $1500 |
| You get $300 (60%) | You get $1000 (66.7%) |
(In contrast, traditional consignment stores usually give the seller only 40-50%.) The remainder covers our service fee and eBay and payment processing fees. There is a $10 minimum fee per item sold.
When will I get my check?
Usually, you will receive your check about five to six weeks after Easysale receives your item. Occasionally, a delay or non-payment by a winning bidder may make this time period longer but you can count on a check being issued about 2 weeks from the time your item is shipped.
How long will my item be listed on eBay?
If Easysale lists your item as an auction, the listing typically runs for seven days to create the most bidding interest. (However, we can run auctions as short as one day for items with time constraints, such as event tickets.) Fixed-price or “Buy It Now” listings usually run longer, often 30 days or more.
What if my item doesn’t sell?
If your item doesn’t sell, Easysale may list it again at a lower price if you have agreed to that. Otherwise, we’ll notify you by email, and you can either pick the item up within 10 days, or allow us to donate your item to charity.
Why shouldn’t I sell it myself?
You could…just as you could paint your own house, repair your own car, or draft your own will. But most people know that they’ll get a better quality result if they hire an expert with the right tools, training, expertise, and reputation. Based right here in Dallas, Easysale became one of the largest Registered eBay Drop-Off Locations in the country by being the expert in online consignment sales:
- Our eBay specialists give you a free online appraisal, so you know whether your item is likely to sell, and at what price.
- Our professional photographers have the right cameras, lighting, backdrops, settings and editing software to showcase your item to its best advantage.
- We maximize your item’s exposure by discovering the best categories in which to list your item and using the key words that are most likely to match a prospective buyer’s online search.
- We promptly answer questions from prospective buyers to be sure that they have the information they need to bid with confidence on your item. They also have the experience to avoid phony bidders and online scams.
- Our shippers carefully pack and ship your item so that it arrives promptly and in good condition, minimizing returns.
- Our high feedback rating makes buyers more likely to bid on our listings rather than those run by individuals.
The bottom line: selling your unused and/or unwanted items with Easysale is convenient, safe and easy
Why do you start the bidding for most auctions at $19.99?
Easysale has learned that lower opening bids attract more interest from potential buyers. When multiple bidders compete for an item, they drive the price up. That’s bad for them, but it’s good for you, the seller—because you make more money! In fact, eBay’s own research shows that an auction with a lower opening bid will almost always sell for a higher price than an identical item with an opening bid near the item’s final value.
Can I set a minimum starting price for my auction?
Yes. While a low starting price is usually the best auction strategy, we know that not all sellers are comfortable with this approach. With our Premium Listing Service, you can set a higher minimum bid for items with a value of $100 or more. There is a $30 per item fee for this service, payable at check-in. If your item sells successfully, we refund this fee on your check. If the item does not sell, we retain this fee to cover our costs of preparing and managing the auction. Because higher opening bids may keep an item from selling at all, our associates can help you decide whether a Premium Listing is right for you and your item.
Why must an item be worth at least $50 for Easysale to sell it?
As an online consignment service, Easysale earns a percentage of the sale amount for our services. When an item sells for much less than $50, our percentage simply isn’t enough to cover the fees we must pay to eBay for that item and the cost of our labor to prepare and manage the listing.
How do I know my items will be safe?
Nothing is more important to Easysale than the safety of the items you entrust to us. Your items are covered by our insurance against loss or damage while they are in our care. All of our facilities have multiple security systems and video surveillance. As an extra safeguard, small valuables, such as jewelry, are stored in a safe at all times.
How can I be sure I’ll either get paid or get my item back?
As a Registered eBay Drop-Off Location (REDOL)—a designation held by only a select group of eBay Trading Assistants—Easysale is bound to a strict code of conduct that includes extremely high standards of customer service, integrity, and insurance. These requirements include a $25,000 Trading Assistant Bond, which guarantees you will either receive the money earned from the sale of your item or you’ll receive your item back. Easysale’s bond is issued by buySAFE, the leading e-commerce bonding service used by the most experienced and professional online merchants, and underwritten by Liberty Mutual, a leading global insurer and Fortune 500 Company with over $70 billion in assets.
Can I watch my online auction while it’s in progress?
Of course – that’s part of the fun! When we launch your auction on eBay, we’ll send you an email with a link to the auction, so you can follow the action.
Can I bid on my own auctions?
No. This is called “shill bidding” and is strictly prohibited by eBay. For the same reason, we do not allow our team members and their families to bid on our auctions.
