Addison
Don’t let the population of just over 14,000 people, and size of just over 4 square miles confuse you. This city packs a lot into its population and real estate. This booming commerce center just north of Dallas has an influx of people each day that in effect multiplies the population by a factor of seven. In fact, there are nearly enough restaurants in Addison to ensure that every person in the city could go out to eat each night, with little to no wait! Also interesting is that this small city boasts at least 4000 hotel rooms, making it an ideal location for meetings and corporate or private gatherings. The Addison Airport is one of the busiest general aviation airports in the nation, taking in charter and private aircraft.
This small city also boasts some of the most interesting array of entertainment available in North Texas, outside of Dallas itself. With entertainment ranging from The WaterTower Theater for plays and musicals, to the University of North Texas Jazz Fest, there is always some event going on that will draw you in and make you feel at home. For those foodies among us, The Taste of Addison offers sampling from some of the area’s best restaurants.
The town also instituted city wide wireless internet in 2005, which is available to everyone for a nominal fee. This fact coupled with the wide proximity to Dallas and Fort Worth, and the availability of hotels and entertainment make Addison an ideal location for any event, or business traveler. Of which there must be many with companies such as Pizza Hut, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Dresser calling Addison home for their corporate headquarters.
While no public schools operate within the town borders of Addison, two private schools call Addison home. Those children that do not attend the two private schools attend Dallas Independent School District schools.
