Here’s a truly radical idea: how about being able to actually park your cars in your garage?

It seems that we tend to store our unused stuff in our garages, while our expensive cars sit outside in the North Texas heat and cold. When Easysale does a free in-home pickup, we often find the most valuable items in people’s garages–things like power tools, sporting equipment (golf clubs, skis), auto parts and accessories, major appliances, and exercise equipment (treadmills, elliptical machines).

But there’s a lot of junk in our garages, too. It takes a lot of time and objectivity to decide what you really need to keep and what you can get rid of. In these situations, Easysale often recommends that the client hire a professional organizer to help them deal with what’s otherwise an overwhelming task.

A professional organizer provides the objectivity, skills and compassion to help you decide what to keep, what you can get rid of by selling on eBay, and what needs to be recycled or trashed. They can then suggest organizing systems that will help you gain control and stay in control of their clutter. Organizers love the challenge of helping people get rid of the chaos and return their home to the peaceful environment they miss.

After the organizer helps you decide what items to sell, Easysale will come to your home and pick them up. We sell them on eBay, and in a few weeks, you get a check. We’ve seen some garages where the homeowner actually made enough to cover the organizer’s entire fee. You weren’t using that stuff anyway—so it’s like getting the organizer’s services for free.

To help increase awareness of the benefits of hiring a professional organizer, Easysale is partnering with the DFW Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers to provide a free Extreme Garage Makeover for the messiest garage in DFW. To enter, all you do is email photos of your garage. NAPO-DFW will select the messiest finalists, and then the winner will be chosen by website voting in January. The winner will receive a garage makeover worth approximately $5,000, and Easysale will sell any valuable items from the garage for free!
