Buyer Feedback (and Why It Matters)

One of the most interesting things about Easysale’s eBay store business is that we have two different groups of customers.  The first group is our consignment sellers, whom we see in person either when they drop off items in our stores or when we come to pick up their items from their homes and businesses.

But we almost never get to meet the second group of customers:  they’re our buyers, and they are all over the world.  (Of course, the exception is our loyal local pick-up buyers in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Plano, Southlake and Addison areas.)

As a business, we obviously care about both our sellers and our buyers.  What may not be so apparent, however, is why our sellers should care about Easysale’s reputation with our buyers.

Easysale Addison 99% Feedback RatingThe reason why buyer feedback matters to our sellers is this:  eBay is a competitive marketplace, and most eBay buyers consider a the eBay seller’s reputation–the Feedback rating and score and the comments left for the seller by other buyers–when they decide where to spend their money.  eBay sellers with a reputation for great buyer service, fast shipping, and fabulous products will see their items sell at higher prices and sell faster than products from new and less-experienced sellers.

Simply put, happy buyers translate into more money for our consignment sellers–often more than they could get if they sold the same item directly themselves.

“Do you have any used defibulaters [sic]? I think I’m gonna need one when my husband opens this gift [a huge lot of 1970s-vintage Star Trek collectibles]! I just wish I could’ve left a longer “Positive Feedback” message for you. I know my hubby’s gonna absolutely LOVE everything you sent. … I was so suprized [sic] & happy to see all the “extras” I know my hubby will be freaking out wondering how much I spent on all of it. If he doesn’t get a Christmas bonus again this year- getting all of these items will pull him out of the dumps for sure! Thank You so much!”

Great buyer experiences on eBay don’t just happen.  They take work, experience, and customer service skills.  But that’s what we do every day at Easysale.
